Facility Fundraising Campaign reaches $17,500!

March 20, 2008 : 3:22 PM
Your contributions are filling in Felix’s tail and bringing him closer to a snip 'n ear tip at the ACG Spay/Neuter Facility! By early March, ACG had raised over $10,000 for the facility. That's just 3 months! Thank You! And the donations continue to come in, so watch the website to see Felix's tail grow.

Alley Cat Guardians has made several exciting advances toward opening the free-roaming cat spay/neuter facility. From funding to veterinary staffing to the building itself, we are making progress!

ACG identified several corporate and foundation grants to target for the funding needed to purchase medical equipment and supplies. Our first preliminary application for veterinary staffing expenses was submitted in late 2007 and we should receive word soon as to the status of that application. Grant applications can be a long process, requiring much patience.

We have also identified a lease property suitable for the spay/neuter clinic and within our projected budget. Best of all, the property layout would not require any significant remodeling work prior to opening. Just new flooring, equipment installation and we are ready to fix cats! And as our fundraising effort continues, we’ll keep our options open and watch for new properties that may also fit our needs.

Even more importantly, ACG has secured commitments from several local veterinarians to work at the spay/neuter clinic during our inaugural year. Their collaboration is essential to the success of the facility. At this time, we expect the clinic to operate 1-2 days a week during Year 1. A lion-sized thank you to all the veterinarians and technicians that are on board and ready to make this clinic a reality.

The spay/neuter facility can not rely on grant funding alone. The community’s support is essential to get us off the ground and sustain the clinic into the future. As Felix’s tail shows, many of you have already voiced your support in the form of facility donations. Thank you for believing in this facility and bringing ACG closer to our fundraising goal!

Let's keep fillling in Felix's tail - make a donation today!
