Scottsdale Horse Classic features dog adoptions this Saturday
by Amie McGraham, Best Friends Network VolunteerPet adoptions, dog agility courses and a costume contest for your dog are on tap for Saturday's Scottsdale horse show. Deemed "Dog Day," the activities encourage dog adoptions and support valley fever research.
Adoptables from
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control , Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Animal Safe Hospice -- the
MASH unit --and a number of Valley pet adoption agengies will be available both Saturday and Sunday at WestWorld. The "Doggie Do Right " agility course will also be set up for the public to bring their dogs for practice runs. Valley fever info and a free back of treats will be given to all participants.
The Scottsdale Classic features hundreds of horse competitions with nearly 8,000 entries from 30 states and Canada. The recent expansion of additional WestWorld facilities has made it possible to include the canine events this year.
