Let's support the animals and their dedicated volunteer friends at the K-9 Bed and Biscuit No-Kill Sanctuary and Boarding Kennel.
Now is the time to reach out and support this wonderful and devoted sanctuary! Recently in the news for rescuing an abandoned litter of pit bull puppies, the K-9 Bed and Biscuit in Greeley, CO has been saving dogs and cats and a variety of other critters for the last four years. With between 80 and 100 dogs, and approximately 50 cats, living at the shelter at any given time, this sanctuary has their hands full and it’s director and owner, Rachel Kruidenier, has her hands full as well – raising three sons on her own now that her husband is living in a nursing home with rapidly progressing MS. Rachel has poured all of her personal finances behind the sanctuary to keep the animals well cared for. The fifty volunteers and three employees have continued to put their time and energy into TLC, upkeep of the 6.5 acre sanctuary, and various fundraising efforts.
Four years ago Rachel and her husband, Richard, took over and redesigned a no-kill sanctuary/kennel in Greeley, Colorado. Rachel has been an animal rescuer from a young age and though her parents always thought it was just a passing interest, Rachel has continued to love and rescue animals in need. When her husband, Richard, was diagnosed with MS four years ago and was no longer able to work as a woodworker, they chose to poor their time and energy into something new. Rachel knew she could care for the animals and Richard possessed the business abilities from running his own business for many years.
With their boarding business feeling the crunch of the recent downturn in the economy, business is down by about 30% and funds are greatly needed to fill in this gap. Many people have already made donations to the tune of approximately $8,000 but much more is needed. The good folks at K-9 Bed & Biscuit will be so appreciative of any donation and so will all the furry friends who call this loving facility their home.
