Elderly, sweet male feline finds a home and friends with FFHS and Cheryl.
Update August 24, 2008:
Email from Cheryl:
Just wanted to update all on Beans from Carrollton, the old cripply man cat! Well, I call him Benny, and he is settling in quite nicely as you can see! He loves me and loves sleeping with me. He is still suffering from a cold and I have him on clavamox and vitamins. He seems to have put on a bit of weight, but he still looks scraggly! One thing is that his back foot everyone thought was injured, is a birth defect. His toes are kinda on sideways! When he wants to really get going, he just picks up his back foot, and takes off on three legs! He is a super kitty, loves to give kisses, but mostly loves to sleep...like most old men! He will be hanging out with me for the rest of his old man days, lounging on a soft blankie.
Original story:
The Carrollton, Texas ACO Joe, once again, included Cheryl on his weekly list of urgent animals, and this past week many cats needed rescue. The good news was that by late Tuesday, all had been pulled from rescue except for one: Beans, an elderly male.
A transport was arranged quickly for Wednesday. Leanne pulled Beans from Carrollton and met Marti in Ardmore, then Cheyl picked Beans up early evening from Marti. Leanne indicates the staff at Carrollton adored Beans so much, that two staffers came out to discuss him while she was filling out paperwork.

Cheryl sent this update this evening:
Hi all! Thanks to everyone for helping save this old man cat! Joe...he is beyond precious and I love the name Beans...but I find myself calling him Benny....then I start singing that Elton John song, Benny and the Jets! LOL
Anyway...Benny is doing great! He is getting Clavamox twice a day and he has stopped sneezing. He wants to explore and I let him out of his cage to stretch his legs while I clean. He seems to be okay with everyone. He eats very well. He is so very sweet....licks my hands and wants to cuddle! Benny is pretty fragile and won't be getting neutered anytime soon...he needs to get a complete physical first. Benny is going to stay here unless I find the absolute perfect forever home!
Thanks to everyone for saving the old man out of Carrollton! Thanks Joe for caring for him til we could get him!
