I wanted to write to let you know that we finally got Sunni adopted. My future mother-in-law is a professor at a local university, and took Sunni to class with her today in the hopes of drawing some attention for our little foster. One such woman became very interested and after a lengthy conversation and meeting with her, she and her husband have agreed to accept Sunni into their home. I thank you so much for the efforts that you put in and for the work you did to help us with Sunni. I appreciate it a great deal and will contact you if we need help in the future. Thanks again and good luck with your continued efforts. Jeff Original story:
Sunni was found by Jeff and taken to the shelter, in hopes her owner would claim her. When they didn't do so, Jeff's family adopted her in order to save her life. They had been told if the owner did not show up, that she would be put down due to her being a bully breed.
Sunni is around one year old and is a purebred American Pit Bull Terrier. The vet estimates she is somewhere between nine months to a year old. She weighs between 45-50lbs.
She was spayed recently at the humane society and was vaccinated against bordatella, parvo, parainfluenza, rabies, distemper and adenovirus 2. She is microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and stomach parasites. This week she will be returning to the vet for her boosters.
Sunni appears to be housebroken and is comfortable staying both inside and outside the house. She is amazingly affectionate and comfortable with humans. She is curious with other animals and becomes protective at times over food, space and other humans. Sunni is great in the car and appears to dislike the confinement of a crate.
