Healthy Animals Seen on the Street of Panajachel

July 10, 2007 : 12:00 AM
Another 68 animals found their way to the second “Mayan Families Healthy Pets” free spay/neuter clinic held last week. Thirty-three were sterilized and the remainder wormed and vaccinated.

“This brings our total number of sterilized animals to over 120 since March”, said Zoë Smart, volunteer and program founder. “We are well on our way to meeting our program goals”.

“It’s such a joy to walk down Calle Santander and see the street dogs that MFHP has treated all filled out and happy”, commented Selaine d’Ambrosi, volunteer director. “When I see ‘Goldie’, ‘Tootsie’ and ‘Jackson’ begging for hand-outs, I just laugh out loud because those three are actually starting to get fat!”

Thank you Dr. Elsa and team for coming from Guatemala City to provide this free service!
