Clinic Success Continues in Pana

January 31, 2008 : 9:45 AM
Another successful spay/neuter clinic was held on Saturday where 27 animals received services. This takes the total number of animals sterilized through Mayan Families Healthy Pets to over 300 in less than one year.

The organization also announced that the Humane Education program is scheduled to launch in Capulin Elementary school February 6 with a training session for all the teachers. Classroom activities and lesson will begin shortly thereafter.

A brigade is forming in another local school with older students. They are chartered to assist in clinic advertising and will be taught to keep journals on the animals in their neighborhood. Journals will help identify street animals from those with homes as well as physical condition, sex, identifying marks and daily activities.
