May 29, 2008 : 11:53 AM
Cindy Hall raises funds for Best Friends Animal Society using a new and improved "canned food drive"
Most food drives ask for your canned goods or ask you to go shopping. We’re asking you to check what is already in your cabinets and make a monetary donation. It’s that simple.
To help determine your donation, consider the following. I have in my cabinets:
_____ can of corn x 25 cents each =
(no.) For ex. 2 cans of corn x 25 cents = 50 cents donation)
_____ can of green beans x 25 cents each =
_____ can of peas x 25 cents each =
_____ can of tuna x 30 cents each =
_____ can of soup x 10 cents each =
_____ can of chili x 30 cents each =
_____can of cake frosting x 25 cents each =
_____can of kidney, lima, or pork n beans x 25 cents =
_____can of dog or cat food x 25 cents each =
_____box of macaroni or spaghetti x 50 cents each =
Total __________
That’s it! Now, total up the right column. That amount is your donation. When submitting your check, please make payable to Best Friends Animal Society, and either give your check to Cindy or Rich Hall directly, or mail it to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741. Our goal is to give them at least $300. Last year we raised $215. Please help us reach that goal. If you send your donation directly to the Society, please jot me a note (cindyhal@uiuc.edu) so that we can include your amount in the total. Thank you.Cindy Hall, 1904 Autumn Ridge, Urbana, IL 61802.
