By: Becky Monroe, Best Friends VolunteerA while back I had the pleasure of working with Northern Illinois Samoyed Assistance (NISA). They helped save the life of a stray Samoyed who came to my county shelter very sick and weak. They spent tons of money bringing his health back to normal, which included extensive treatment for his diabetes as well as eye surgery. Not to mention, the care and devotion he received while being fostered. I am happy to report that Parker, a sweet and loving Samoyed, was adopted by a very caring and experienced family. He is living the happy and healthy life he so deserved. It is a wonderful, telling story of this amazing rescue organization.
NISA has a special place in my heart for what I have seen them do to save Samoyeds. As with most rescues they rely on donations to help them continue their work. In the next few months, they are hosting two events to help raise funds for their rescue as well to celebrate the Samoyed breed and all breeds of dogs. I hope you can join them for one or both of the celebrations!
