Wichita, KS Join Alley Cat Allies and Sedgwick-based Friends of Felines to learn how you can unite with other Kansans to implement Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs and stop the killing of outdoor cats.
We are very excited to announce that Alley Cat Allies, in partnership with Friends of Felines, will conduct a free seminar in Wichita on Saturday, October 20th from 1 to 4 PM. The seminar will focus on Helping Outdoor Cats in Kansas and will feature speakers from Friends of Felines, the Kansas Humane Society and local vet Pam Howell, DVM.
There is no fee for this seminar, but registration is required. Seminar speakers will include:
Becky Robinson, President, Alley Cat Allies
- Improving cats’ lives through Trap-Neuter-Return
- Advocating for new animal control policies
Pam Howell, DVM
- Zoonotic diseases and first aid
- Safe handling of feral cats
Karla Hartlep, Director of Shelter Operations, Wichita Humane Society
- How successful programs reduce the demands on shelter facilities
- The shelter’s low-cost feral cat spay/neuter program
Ray Huff, President, Friends of Felines
- How to start a Trap-Neuter-Return program
- How to work with local jurisdictions and gain support for TNR programs
