Closing of TLC Animal Rescue Center threatens the lives of its pet population
LAS VEGAS, NV--More than 80 dogs and cats may lose their lives if they don't find a new home by Friday, July 25.
Officials with the TLC Animal Rescue Center says the shelter near Decatur and Valley View Boulevards will shut down for good, and they hope other rescue organizations will take in the dozens of animals now behind held in the shelter.
According to media reports, Marty Ertl, the director of TLC Animal Rescue, says he has been trying to keep his group afloat for a while and he has been having problems with funding and volunteers.
But with a sluggish economy, the Nevada SPCA says other rescue facilities in Las Vegas are packed full.
What You Can Do
If you can help provide a home, or can care for the animals temporarily, please call the Nevada SPCA at 702-873-SPCA (7722).
