Come on down to celebrate at Ocean Isle Beach!
Paws-Ability Parties for the Animals
By Janie WithersPaws-Ability held its annual Christmas party this year, requesting that guests bring dog/cat food for no kill shelters in Brunswick County instead of hostess gifts. A total of 596 pounds of dog/cat food and treats were collected, along with lots of towels and blankets needed for kennels.
This year, the cat food went to Cat Tails at Ocean Isle Beach and the dog food to the SOAR shelter near Southport. Needless to say, it makes a difference to shelters. This is such an easy way to help, and everyone loves it. This is the 3rd year for the party, and it has grown to be a success.
Paws-Ability also plans its 2nd annual Mardi Gras party (ie Mardi Paws). This year's Mardi Paws-Ability party will be on Fat Tuesday, Feb 5, 2008 at Sharky's on Ocean Isle. Catered with great New Orleans food, decorations and New Orleans music, guests will think they are on Bourbon street!
Tickets are $25 per person, and Mardi Gras costumes are requested to be worn. If anyone is interested, tickets will be offered after Jan 2 along with raffle tickets at $5 each for a chance to win a 42 inch plasma screen TV! Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, so get your beads ready and come on down to Ocean Isle Beach for a great party!
