2nd Annual Garage Sale will be held April 12th at the Healthy Start Academy (807 W. Chapel Hill St in Durham), starting at 8am.
Donations are tax deductible and every penny you help us raise will go directly to buying fencing materials to free dogs from the misery of life on a chain. Last year's event raised enough money to build 15 of our 55 fences, and with a waiting list full of dogs, we are hoping to raise even more this year.
As you gather the items you want to donate, you can help us reduce unnecessary pre-sale and post-sale labor in the following ways:
1) put prices on the items if you can - no need to price books, movies, CDs or clothing;
2) please put nice clothing and coats on hangers;
3) fold all clothing that is not on hangers;
4) donations should be clean, in working order, not broken or torn, and have all their parts;
5) please do not donate large appliances, shoes or stained clothing;
6) if an item's function is not readily apparent, please attach that information to the item.
Storage will be available for donated items a few weeks before the sale.
It will take a lot of helping hands to make the sale a success. If you are able to volunteer before, during, or after the sale, please contact Ellen at
Whitaker-E-S@clearwire.net.
We will also need to borrow dozens of folding tables and some portable clothes racks. Please let Ellen know if you have these items to lend.
