Convergent Volunteers Requested In Northern California Due To Wildfires

July 9, 2008 : 11:43 PM
Workers needed for shelters in Las Plumas and Chico.

Best Friends is not planning an active deployment to the California wildfires. However, we have been asked to communicate the need for arms/legs/workers under a convergent volunteer system. If you are interested and available to go assist, here is the information I received from Rich this evening.

I spoke with John from the North Valley Disaster Group. John said they can handle convergent volunteers, so go ahead and message accordingly. This will not be an official BF response but I would advise them to dress accordingly and plan on shelter work. The two locations John mentioned are Las Plumas and Chico. The volunteers can call the hotline below when they get close for more specific directions.
