NEW WEBNIAR SERIES: Animals & Religion Author’s Corner - Tues. Jan. 29th – 4:00 p.m. MST!

January 24, 2008 : 2:45 PM
Join us for the first of an ongoing monthly series featuring authors of books and other media who will teach us more about Animals & Religion!

by Kris Haley, Best Friends Manager of Multifaith Outreach

As we promised, the Best Friends Animals & Religion Network Community has an exciting year in store for you and, with that, we'd like to introduce another brand new Webinar entitled, "Animals & Religion Author’s Corner.”

This informative Webinar series, hosted by a different author each month, is open to all who wish to attend; friends and family are welcome too! Each month, we will explore some of the many contributions being made by those who write books, articles, poetry, essays, music, films and videos that support the concept of compassion for animals as a core spiritual value.

This month’s featured guest, Donna Rae Yuritic is an Animal Chaplain who completed studies under the Chaplain of the Pets program, at Chapel of the Fields in California. Since completing her studies, Chaplain Donna has built a very successful Animal Ministry called, “Compassion for Creatures,” and practices in Arizona. She will share with us the exciting details of her work in this new and emerging field of humane service as well as discuss her new book!

Chaplain Donna’s newly published book, “Animal Angels: Paws To Remember,” discusses pet loss and guides us toward healthy, healing discussions with children about the loss of a beloved animal companion. For many young children, losing a beloved animal companion is frequently their very first experience with loss. Chaplain Donna gives us tools that will help us to navigate through the field of grief in a way that is helpful and healthy for children of all ages.

We hope you will consider joining us for this exciting new concept-Webinar which will also allot time at its conclusion for you to ask Chaplain Donna any questions you may have about her experiences.

In future months, we will invite authors from different genres to this ongoing monthly series of Animals & Religion Author’s Corner Webinars.
