TWO Animals & Religion Webinars This Week Take a LEAP of Faith!

February 24, 2008 : 1:26 PM
Best Friends Animals & Religion Network Community continues its 2008 Webinar series with TWO new Webinars this week, one on LEAP year!

by Kris Haley, Best Friends Manager of Multifaith Outreach/
Animals & Religion

The first Webinar, “Animals & Religion Author’s Corner," will feature author Mary Buddemeyer Porter who will discuss her book, “Will I See Fido In Heaven,” as well as some of her other books and DVD's. And we will also have our second "Prayer Circle of Compassion For The World’s Animals,” featuring Deacon Joe Dwyer, who is a co-author of the Religious Proclamation for Animal Compassion.

These cutting-edge Webinars, are open to all who wish to attend; friends and family welcome!

Mary Buddemeyer-Porter is the author of a number of books and DVD’s that illustrate our spiritual connection with animals. Mary has been a Bible Scholar for over 40 years and while writing is a strenuous adventure for her, she feels called to this work and currently has four projects underway! She lives in the St. Louis area with her husband and a family of treasured animals, many of whom she personally rescued.

Deacon Joe Dwyer is an ordained Catholic Deacon and Vice Chancellor for Administration for the Diocese of Newark; 7th largest in the nation. He is a board member for Catholic Concern for Animals and frequently speaks on Compassionate Stewardship when he is not delivering animal-centric homilies. Deacon Joe, a certified veterinary technician and third degree Black Belt in Karate, share his New Jersey home with his wife, two children and three beloved dachshunds.

To those who wish to attend the Prayer Circle Webinar, we always extend an offer to you to include your own personal companion animals, past and present, as well as any of the world’s animals for whom you wish to have Deacon Joe offer prayer. And to encourage the inclusion of the animals close to your heart, we invite you to send us photos of them which we will include in the Webinar!!!

We hope you will consider joining us for one or both of these exciting new concept-Webinars which respectively feature extraordinary perspectives of animals and spirituality and both personal and global prayer for animals, conducted in real time. We will also have time at the conclusions of each Webinar for you to chat with Mary and Deacon Joe about their experiences with regard to Animals & Religion.

Dubbed the "Eye of God, " this photo is actually the so-called, Helix Nebula, described by astronomers as "a trillion-mile-long tunnel of glowing gases." At its center is dying star which has ejected masses of dust and gas to form tentacle-like filaments stretching toward an outer rim composed of the same material. Our own sun may look like this in several billion years.
